All full-time enrolled undergraduate students are required to be covered by the SHP for off-campus medical care and hospitalization unless they can demonstrate alternative coverage that meets the University's criteria.

Coverage under the Princeton University Student Health Plan is mandatory for all degree-enrolled graduate students for off-campus medical care and hospitalization.  Enrollment is automatic with tuition payment.  Coverage under an additional medical insurance policy is acceptable, however, that policy becomes the primary insurance plan and the SHP becomes secondary.
